ON YOUR WEDDING DAY…

I’m a storyteller wedding photographer from Yorkshire. I like to tell the story of your wedding day from the preparation, right through to the dancing – picking up on all the little details that make it special and unique to the two of you. I have an unobtrusive photography style so that I capture natural moments and the emotions of the day. But I also will schedule time with you during the day to ensure I capture the more directed shots to get those ‘wow’ images that look perfect as a centerpiece in your wedding album or for your wedding photo wall.

BRIDAL PREP

I love starting my day photographing the Bride getting ready with her family and best friends! I photograph all of your special items for the day (your shoes, perfume, dress etc.) as well as capturing the excitement and emotion of your morning. It’s great when the Bride schedules to be ready ahead of time to allow time for some photos as this is a good time to get photos of the Bride looking her best.

THE GROOM & HIS GROOMSMEN

If time allows me to get a chance to see the Groom with his Groomsmen before the ceremony I will try and get 5 minutes of their time (often at the ceremony venue) to take some photos of the men together. A silly photo is always a good way to calm the nerves!

CEREMONY AND CONFETTI SHOTS

Every Priest / Registrar has their own set of rules on what photographers are allowed to do during their ceremony, so I advise that you ask yours ahead of time. I am very discrete during the ceremony so that I do not disturb the ceremony.
I love colourful confetti photos! I will work together with you before your day to decide on where we can take these shots and then I'll borrow a groomsman on the day to help me arrange people.

FAMILY PHOTOS

Before the wedding I will ask you for a list of ‘official’ family shots you want on your wedding day. After the ceremony I work through the list (with a little help from a groomsman or sibling) and organise the group photos so that it runs smoothly and we get all the shots done in a timely manner. My advice is to keep your list short to leave time for enjoying the rest of your day with your guests.

THE BRIDE & GROOM

This is where I love to get creative! Whilst your guests go off and enjoy a drinks reception or some nibbles this is the perfect excuse for us to sneak off and get some photos of the two of you! We can do this at the grounds of your wedding reception or if you are lucky enough to have a great location minutes away, we can take a drive!

AND THE REST…

Once all the important photos are taken, I will be much more in the background taking natural, candid shots and photos of the guests having fun. I will ensure I get photos of speeches, your cake cutting and your first dance and if I happen to spot a beautiful sunset, I may steal you away for 5 minutes to get some photos. Once your first dance is over I usually hang around for 10 minutes to take some dance floor photos if your guests are dancing to finish off your wedding photos in style!
